CHATTA PRIMARY TEACHERS TRAINING INSTITUTE
Having a lush green campus spread over nearly 1.05 acre, the College is situated very close to Khana Jn Railway station in the Northern sub-division of Purba Barddhaman District, West Bengal. From Barddhaman city it is only 16 kilometres by road and well connected by Rail. The college provides an ideal environment to the aspiring teachers for training of minds and souls. The college cradles a genuine concern for the pursuit of human inquiry and preparation of student teachers in an environment conducive to teacher education programme.
Chatta Primary Teachers Training Institute was established in 2004 under the aegis of Chatta Begum Rokeya Educational society at Chatta Kalikapur town under Maheshtala Police Station, South 24 Parganas. The course started as PTT for one year and continued for 2004-2005 and 2005-2006. After this as per the NCTE rules the course duration was 2 years and it was renamed as Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). After the approval of NCTE dated 2008 dated 5th August, 2008, West Bengal Board of Primary Education recognition came on 20th May, 2009. This was continued till 201-15 and after that the college has been shifted to a new area for fulfilling the demand of the local people of Purba Barddhaman and Birbhum and Hooghly. The new campus shifted to Khana Junction campus (click for NCTE approval).
After this NCTE directs all these college to run the composite course and thus B.Ed course also been started from 2017-2019. (Click here for NCTE recognition and Approval from Burdwan University) .
The college aims at training young men and women of quality to be leaders in all walks of life, whom we hope will play a vital role in bringing about the desired changes for the betterment of the people of our country. The College trains young men and women to serve their fellowmen in justice, truth and love. It fosters an atmosphere of intellectual vigour and moral rectitude in which the youth of our country may find their fulfillment and achieve greatness as eminent men and women of service.

I am delighted to extend a very warm welcome to the students who are desirous of It is firmly believed that the quality of teachers in educational institutions determines the eventual quality of education. The role of colleges of education in preparing high quality teachers is therefore, imperative. The teacher for this century should have the ability to ensure cognitive, conative and affective development of the students and create them a value system which is a mixture of time tested values, nationalistic and secular traditions and scientific temper. It is an ardours task and cannot be completed without high quality teacher and therefore developing teachers of this quality is the need of the hour.
It is gratifying to note that the Chatta primary Teachers Training Institute has undertaken to develop multifarious skills among the students who really need to be a good teacher. The college has taken notable strides in the direction of empowering stake holders in the use of Information Communication Technology’s & sharpening their communicative skills. With inclusive education in mind, the preparing of teachers for treating children with special needs has become a well regulated programme in the college. Side by side, emphasis teaching effectiveness is going hand in hand. We do not have any doubt that that the institution will continue to play its leading role in the above areas. The launch of the college website would go a long way in highlighting its multifarious activities and achievements.
